Divorce Process
There are two stages involved in the Singapore Divorce Process. In the First Stage, the Courts will deal with the termination of the marriage itself. Here, the Court will decide whether the marriage should be dissolved. In the Second Stage, the Courts will deal with the Ancillary matters. These include;
- division of marital assets
- custody of the children
- maintenance of the wife and children (where applicable)
At the Ancillary Stage of the divorce (after the Court grants the interim divorce), the Court will have to decide how the Matrimonial Assets are to be divided between the parties by making orders as to the division of the assets and the proceeds of the sale of the assets.
